Tickets are now available at www.tggc.org for Hannibal’s The Great Gardens Conference: Natives, Meadows & Prairies June 2-4, 2023, in Hannibal, MO, organized by Grow Native! professional member 3G Farm. This three-day conference consists of a Friday evening film showing at the Bluff City Theater in Hannibal of “Urban & Suburban Meadows…Bringing Meadowscaping to Big and Small Spaces,” produced by Catherine Zimmerman who also created Doug Tallamy’s Bringing Nature Home film. The film will be followed by a question-and-answer session. Saturday’s workshop schedule runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and includes eight speakers presenting on various topics concerning prairies and native plantings. Additionally, native plants will be available for purchase from Grow Native! professional members Forrest Keeling Nursery and Prairie Hill Farm. The event will conclude Sunday with a free, self-guided driving tour for workshop participants of six, native plant gardens and projects, including one-, three-, and seven-year prairie plantings to allow participants to “see” real-world prairie planting timelines, as well as large and small native plant gardens inspired by Grow Native! landscape designs. Proceeds from the conference will benefit Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department for native plants and prairie projects.
