July 15 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm CDT

In collaboration with MPF’s Grow Native! program, Dr. Nadia Navarrete-Tindall and her crew of the Specialty Crops Program of Lincoln University in Jefferson City will offer a tour of the FINCA EcoFarm. Finca is a small and highly diversified farm in Latin America. In Missouri, it is a program that focuses on growing native plants as crops in small parcels of land in a sustainable way.

Visitors will meet in front of the Teaching Greenhouse located on 1204 Chestnut Street and will be offered guided tours in the greenhouse and the FINCA.

The FINCA at Lincoln campus has been established with native edibles including fruits, perennial greens, flowers and tubers and many wildflowers and other plants important for pollinators. The tours will consist of 5 or more stops where small food samples will be served. It is a free event, but registration is required. This tour is on level ground and easy walking.

Number of participants is limited to 20. Parking will be available close to the Teaching Greenhouse. Look for signs. For more information, please send email to Navarrete-tindalln@lincolnu.edu

To register, email outreach@moprairie.org or call 573-808-7007
