Native Garden of Excellence Tour: Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home and Museum Monarch Garden

On June 21, Grow Native! is hosting a tour of the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home and Museum Monarch Garden in Mansfield, Missouri, led by Ronda Burnett, Community Conservation Planner with the Missouri Department of Conservation and Susan Essman, former Wilder Museum board member and a Master Gardener with Greene County. Ronda and Susan worked together to install the garden, which was inducted as a Grow Native! Native Garden of Excellence in 2025.
The 50-minute tour will include information about the history, design, and maintenance of the garden with details about the different species present and stewardship techniques that are used at the site.
The tour will be followed by an optional 40-minute informal Q&A with refreshments in the Museum lobby.
FREE but registration by June 19 is required. Capacity is limited.

The tour will proceed, rain or shine, except in cases of potentially unsafe weather conditions. Cancellation due to severe/dangerous weather will be at the discretion of the site. Registrants will be informed of cancellation due to weather conditions via the email address provided at registration.
The Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home and Museum is dedicated to Wilder, the author of the Little House on the Prairie series, and her writings. Adult admission to the Home and Museum, which contains the most comprehensive Ingalls and Wilder family collection in the world, is $18.
