Seed Identification, Collection, & Stratification
In 2018, the Missouri Prairie Foundation received a grant from the Natural Resource Conservation Service to supply native plant kits to Future Farmers of America chapters in Missouri, along with a study guide about the plants in the kit. The project’s main goal was to teach agricultural students about raising native plants for seed production.
The study guide to the plants in the kit, along with the accompanying Seed Collection and Identification document and the Stratification Guide, will be useful tools for anyone wishing to learn more about collecting native seed and stratifying it to prepare for planting.
