Basic Description

Loose umbels of yellow flowers in April and May on 12 to 14 inch stems. The evergreen foliage is rounded and serrated along the edges, growing to height of 3 to 4 inches. Plants spread slowly by underground stems. Grows well in dry shade. Many bees, flies, and beetles use the nectar and pollen. Host to northern metalmark butterfly. Part of Grow Native!
