Full sun, and extremely drought tolerant plant Native to prairies and glades of the Ozarks. Flowering stems stand erect without support and make quite a show of purple dancing in the wind.

Basic Description

Gorgeous 2″ magenta flowers with fringed petals, blooms on erect stems in spring to mid-summer. Foliage is blueish green, deeply divided lobes. Stems have a whitish coating that can be rubbed off.
