Spring forbs will be breaking through the ground, there will be signs of fossorial mammals, insects moving about, and bird song breaking the calm of the past season. For prairie, springtime is like the start of a horse race. Join MPF Technical Advisor Jeff Cantrell for an early look at life and eco-relationships at MPF’s Carver Prairie. Hike will be about one-half mile. Dress for the weather and walking in a prairie, and bring water and sun protection.
Note: Hike will be held rain or shine. If storms/lightning is predicted, MPF will contact registrants in the event we need to reschedule. Even though tours will be outside, tour leaders ask that participants practice social distancing and wear masks when needed.
Cost: Free. Maximum registration: 12 people.
